Fujifilm presented its working prototype of the FinePix Real 3D System amateur digital camera, which can be used for capturing 3D images and films and allows users to view them without special glasses.

According to a company press release, the camera uses a groundbreaking system consisting of two lenses whose images merge in a single three-dimensional image or film.

Users can view the images on a built-in screen, like with standard digital cameras, or on a separate, large monitor. Fujifilm has announced that it hopes to offer a special 3D photo printing service. «Even with the naked eye three-dimensional images come to life with their breathtaking realism and beauty,» it says in the press release.

The gadget will go on sale in Japan at the beginning of next month, priced at 60,000 yen. It will be introduced in international markets at the end of August.
